Basisschool de Elzen in Tilburg, a school that is growing and thriving. Therefore, it was going to expand by putting an additional floor on the building. There were already solar panels on the roof, and they obviously had to make room. For this, we devised and realized the solution.
Together with Basisschool de Elzen, the contractor and installer, we created a clear and concrete plan for dismantling, temporarily storing and reinstalling the entire solar system. Principles here: safe, minimal risk of damage, low cost and maximum reuse of existing components.
The “old solar system” is on the new roof with 90% of the materials reused. In the process, the system has been upgraded to be fully compliant with all current standards. In this way, the economic life of the system was extended by ten years.
